The Emerald Ballroom offers group classes for all levels.
First-time dancer or looking to learn a new step or two? Try our
First Night and Monday night lessons. Have some experience in a dance,
but want to learn more? Check out our technique-intensive Mastery Class or
next level Silver Class!
*NOTE: Although
classes are drop-in, Emerald requires at least 3 people for a class to run. Feel
free to call us to let you know you are interested with your phone number, and
we will call you if class is
cancelled!
Perfect for brand new
dancers. The basic step plus a few simple
steps.
Intermediate
A review of the basic and
a more challenging step. Good for beginners and those with some
experience.
All classes are drop-in, no preregistration required. The steps
and dances taught are on a rotating cycle - the dances will stay the same
for two weeks, then the beginner class will move to intermediate and we'll bring
in a new beginner dance. Different steps are taught on each
night, so if you stay for all four weeks of a dance, you'll have a nice variety
of steps to mix and match!
Mastery Class is a ten-week, non-consecutive course of
intense training in one dance. This class emphasizes technique, partnering
skills, connection, and overall comprehension of the dance. It begins with the
basic step, then covers as many step patterns of the dance as time allows.
It is highly recommended that you have some foundation in the dance before
attempting this class!
The current Mastery Class is East Coast
Swing.

necessary!
Only $125 for the ten week
series paid in advance, or drop in for $15 per
class.
Classes are held on Fridays from 7pm-8pm and are NOT held
on Theme party nights or First Night.
One of the
newest group offerings to Emerald, Silver Class is an advanced group class for
those who are solid in their bronze fundamentals. The class will consist of 4-1
hour drop-in sessions in each dance to add the next level of patterns,
technique, and movement. Teacher recommendation is necessary for
participation in this class! Please contact Julie or Jessica for more
information.
